Booker and I are off to Washington today, for a week, guests of the Independent Womens Forum who are generously sponsoring the US launch of our book Scared to Death. My co-editor will be keeping the blog warm while we are away and, technology and my competence permitting, I hope to post the occasional missive from the heart of democracy.
