Today is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, unquestionably one of the greatest Britons. The son of a French immigrant, himself a notable engineer and designer, Brunel was part-educated in France but created his railways, tunnels, bridges and Paddington Station in England.
