All the propaganda that's fit to print
The best propaganda is the sort you do not even recognise as propaganda – and better still if the purveyors of your message themselves are unaware that they are being used.
The above stories from Google News effortlessly illustrate the point. All the headlines -and the accompanying texts portray - the EU in a positive light, conveying the impression that it is increasing its generosity to the poor.
But, as we know, the amount offered represents a significant cut in the real amount of aid on offer. You would not, however, get a hint of that from the reports.
